Clint Packer continues to battle a very aggressive cancer! His white count is very low! Remember him in prayer… the lymphoma is widespread. His prognosis is dismal! Jan Matlock’s 40 y/o nephew) Pray for his parents, too.

George McElroy underwent several hours of surgery in what the doctor described as the strangest he had seen. His gallbladder was wedged behind his liver and it was as if it was “petrified.” The doctors are baffled as to how he could have lived with such a condition. But, thanks be to God, he is recovering now, at home. Continue to pray for him, and for Jan!

Jerry Packer, Jan’s b-i-l, is once again at home but with strict orders not to lower his foot to the floor. After 7 hours of intricate surgery on his foot and toe this week, necessary to save it, he will have to return for another bone graft. All this from injuries sustained when a hay-baler fell on his foot.Thank you for your continued prayers, that he will regain full use of his foot w/ no further infection, and for total healing.

Our Heartfelt Prayers and Sympathy are with the Tonroy’s, and with Ken Wardlaw. Larry’s cousin, Betty and her husband Ken own a Bed & Breakfast in the Hill Country on a river, and were rafting down the river with a number of people when four of them were sucked under, beneath a bridge. Three of them came up, but Betty did not. She drowned in the current. Her body had not been recovered late last night. Be in prayer for this family! Her husband is devastated, as are all who knew her! Pray God’s peace will prevail as they work through this tragedy!

Our Dale Christopher died this week. A memorial service will be held in Slaughter Chapel at FBC Dallas on Monday.

Pray for the Packer family! Son Clint, who is fighting this very aggressive cancer - large cell lymphoma. Pray for him as he undergoes chemo, that his symptoms will be lessened, and the treatment successful. Pray for him, and for his entire family as they deal with the grim prognosis, and loving him through this. Then, pray for dad, Jerry, who is still fighting infection and is barely ambulatory for short periods of time, after a hay baler fell on his foot, breaking toes, but worse, creating a major laceration on his foot. Pray he will regain full use of his foot and total healing!

Dennis Cagle, son of Para and Sam, is now waiting to see if there is growth in new node found in his neck. He is on a new drug to help stimulate his taste buds... this aggressive cancer is progressing, but they are fighting it all the way. Pray for comfort and ease of symptoms for Dennis, for successful treatment and the growth of lesions to be arrested, and for the new medication to be successful in stimulating his taste buds so he can manage to eat again!

Our Ruth Cowell is struggling through chemo treatments now... pray that they will be successful in eradicating the cancer, that she will tolerate the treatments with little side effects, and for the comfort of the Lord to be with her at all times.

Don Duke, close friend of Jan Matlock, has been diagnosed with inoperable cancer of the lung. He will begin chemo at M.D. Anderson in Houston on Friday. Pray that the treatment will be successful, that the Lord will draw him near and comfort him through the process!

JAMES ETHRIDGE writes... Please pray for my mother. She has some tumors near her brain. She has seen 11 different doctors, and not so many as 2 of these doctors have given her the same diagnosis. She will go to her doctor here in town tomorrow, and talk to him about going to Houston Texas and getting a second opinion. Please pray that her doctor would get her an appointment and let her go to Houston for this second opinion. Please pray that she would get good news from this doctors visit to Houston, that these tumors would be benign and not malignant. Please pray for me as well. For sometime now, I have been praying for the Lord to open and close some doors in my life. With what's happening with my mother, I really need prayer for these doors in my life more than ever before. Also, please pray that if there is anything in my life hindering these doors from being opened and closed, please pray that the Lord would reveal anything to me, that I need to get out.
